2018年6月23日（土）オオサンショウウオの生息調査実施（二回目）
スタッフ８名と、朝来市教育委員会から１名。
19:40、日暮れを待って７名が川へ入り、２名が陸上から後方支援をします。
ここは７年前に河川工事で保護していたオオサンショウウオを100匹以上放流した場所のすぐ下流で、マイクロチップで登録した個体が沢山いるはず。
期待に胸躍らせながらの調査開始からすぐに個体が見つかり、上流に向けて次々と捕獲されてゆきます。
最初は小魚など水生生物が少ないように見えましたが、比較的ふっくらした個体が多いのでエサは豊富に有るようです。
22:00の調査終了まで12個体を捕獲。その内の５個体が再捕獲でした。
これらは７年前のデータと比較して、成長記録など貴重な情報が得られることになります。
50㎝～90㎝サイズのものまで新顔がいたり、お腹の膨らんだメスと思われる個体もいて、工事後の川の状態も悪くないように思えました。
最後に捕獲した個体はずいぶん気が荒く岡田理事長の親指に噛みつき、身体をひねって大暴れ。軍手もろとも見事に引き裂かれてしまいました。やはり野生の生き物は油断が出来ません。今回の調査ではスタッフ１名が川に沈没するハプニングも。
１mを超える大物を取り逃がしたとの弁ですが、真相はいかに！？
朝来市教育委員会文化財課からの依頼ですが、行政から業務委託を受けての調査活動が出来るのは本当に有りがたいことです。
The 2nd survey 2018 was carried out a week later from the previous survey this time at Takeharano area, Ikuno-cho, Asago-city.8 staffs and one from the board of education joined the survey this time started from around 19:30. Over 100 Ankou which were found and micro chipped at the time of river construction held about 7 years ago were released here and therefor good result must be expected.
One Ankou was captured soon after started and total 12 Ankou were captured by 22:00.. Those captured are observed relatively looks well fed and their living environment with good amount of prey are expected.
Ankou captured this time varied from 50 to 90cm including non registered, and some Ankou who seems to be female observed rather fat stomach to guess eggs inside. Living condition of the said river can be considered to be rather good as most of them not thin at all even after the river construction several years ago.
The Ankou captured last was rather viollent and,bit the thumb of Okada Directer and his glove was brutally torn (see the photo). WE must be careful when handling natural animals whenever.
Another incident to report is one staff drawn trying to capture huge Ankou (reported sized over 120cm) and failed as a result.
2018年6月13日（土）オオサンショウウオの生息調査実施
朝来市教育委員会文化財課からの依頼の調査を実施いたしました。今回の場所は朝来市生野町生野町を流れる市川の生野高校より少し南の下流での調査でした。19:30~23:30の約四時間の調査でしたが、出るわ出るは、計17個体の発見、そのうち2個体が再捕獲、15個体が新規の捕獲でした。終わってみると300mぐらいしか移動していませんでした。上流にまだまだいる気配はしていますが、時間切れで終了。
寒くて凍えそうでした。調査終了後再捕獲のデータを追跡してみると七年前ずっと上流の竹原の地区で捕獲した個体であることが判明しました。距離としてはどれぐらいあるのでしょうかずっと流されたのが移動したのか？？？ Mid Jun. 2018 Survey of Japanese Giant Salamander, requested by the Board of Education,

very obvious many are living in this river as the distance surveyed this time was only about 300 meters long and found so many. 2 recaptured was found later according to
the date kept that they were captured much upstream near Takeharano area 7 years ago. Not know whether they traveled or ware carried by water.
